Let’s Create A Better Tomorrow .

We're children and young people with disabilities in Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, and Malawi. We use social media to help change our lives and truly make an impact on others in the targeted five countries and beyond.

Join Our Writers' Competition

Are you a child or youth with a disability aged 15 to 24 in the SADC region who want to join the 20 Youth Ambassadors in Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, and Malawi in the #IYV project? Then, you can join our writers’ competition to stand a chance of being published in our e-book anthology and being promoted on various social media.

Change Lives In Three Easy Steps .

While the pilot phase of this project is primarily targeting five countries, we still welcome the participation of all youths or children with disabilities (aged 15 to 24 years) from across the Southern Africa region. Here are the three easy steps you can take to help change lives.

1

Participate in Our Assessment Survey

We are interested in understanding how kids with disabilities use social media in advocating for various issues affecting them at national or even regional levels. Participate in our assessment survey to help inform SAFOD how best it can capacitate selected Youths Ambassadors in five countries and beyond.

2

Tag #IYV on Your Social Network(s)

Help us spread the word about the #IYV by posting about the project on your social media network platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.). Or at least you can simply tag #IYV in your posts if related to the human rights issues affecting you as a young person with a disability.

3

Write About #IYV Issues

You can encourage your friends at school, home, church, elsewhere to join our Young Writers Competition. Or if you or your friends don’t necessarily want to join the competition, you may still write about any issue(s) affecting youths or children with disabilities, and we will post on the SAFOD blog if we find your writing(s) interesting.

Meet Our Namibian #IYV Youth Ambassador! .

SAFOD has been working with our 20 youth ambassadors in Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi to raise awareness about the issues that affect children and young people with disabilities in their countries. The #Inclusive Young Voices (#IYV) is helping to promote disability mainstreaming using social media. In this short video, meet 23 year old Maria Kakwiyu, who is one of the 4 Youth Ambassadors in Namibia. Maria has been actively participating in this exciting project.
