Consultation on UNICEF’s Disability Inclusion Strategy

Call for Individual Submissions

UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. As UNICEF develops its first-ever Disability Inclusion Policy and Strategy, we are gathering the testimonies and ideas of adolescents with disabilities all over the world.

Send a message to UNICEF about what you want to share with the global community.

Your contribution can focus on one or more of the following questions:

  • 1. What What do you want to share with the global community regarding children and adolescents with disabilities?
  • 2. How can UNICEF help you achieve your goals?
  • 3. What are the main challenges that you face as an adolescent with a disability?
  • 4. What would help you share your ideas with your peers and the adults in your life (and what gets in the way)?
  • 5. You are an agent of change! How can UNICEF support you to be the best one you can be?

How can I contribute?

  • 1. A brief video (1 minute or less)
  • 2. A brief audio recording (1 minute or less)
  • 3. A drawing
  • 4. A poem; or
  • 5. A short essay (1 page or less).

How will we use your submission?

Your opinions will inform UNICEF’s Disability Inclusion Policy and Strategy. They will remain anonymous, and your privacy will be protected at every moment. You can choose a secret name so that we can quote your contributions in documents as we share the new Policy and Strategy in 2022.

What else do you need to do?

To participate, please review the information provided and then you must complete the attached consent form, where you agree to share your work with UNICEF. Your privacy is very important for us, and your name and face will not be disseminated in publications related to the topic.

How to submit your work?

Send it to disability.consultation@iicrd.org 

Don’t forget to send your consent form! It is very important to have your permission. If you are between 14 and 17 years old, kindly ask your parents or guardians for their permission to be part of this initiative.
